Mia Michalak is a family nurse practitioner based in Seattle, WA. She began her advanced practice career providing primary care in federally qualified health centers to patients of all ages and backgrounds. Her work as a member of the Housing Health Outreach team at one of these centers led to a specific interest in treating patients with substance use disorders in low barrier models of care. She received a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology as well as her nursing degrees from Emory University and also holds a specialty nursing certification from the Addictions Nursing Certification Board. When not at work, she enjoys spending time outside in nature or curling up with a good novel.
